Squeeze Midi-Baccarat Review

A Squeeze Midi Baccarat table accepts up to 9 players, which is different from mini-baccarat, where the limit is seven players, and large table baccarat, where the limit is 14 players. In addition, players get a chance to squeeze, bend, or turn cards.

Squeeze Midi-Baccarat Review

Midi Baccarat is a mid-paced game. Players turn cards, and extremes of big baccarat are not allowed. The game moves slower than mini-baccarat, making it perfect for players who like to handle cards. Moreover, the house gets players to bet in more rounds per hour. As a result, the minimum bet size limits are higher than in mini-baccarat and lower than in big table baccarat. The overall objective is to predict which hand has a point value nearest to nine.

Rules

Valuation of the cards follows conventional ranking methods. In essence:

  • Kings, Queens, Jacks, and Tens have 0 value
  • Aces have a value of 1
  • Each of the numbered has a value equal to the number inscribed on the face

How to Play

Players can bet on three possible outcomes. That is:

  • Banker bet
  • Player bet
  • Tie

The game starts with four cards dealt facing up on the table. Then, each player and the banker gets two cards.

After adding the cards, if the total value is above ten, the front digit gets discarded, and only the second digit counts. For example, the sum of a hand with 7 and 6 would be 13. After ignoring the 1, the true value of this hand in Squeeze Midi-Baccarat would be 3.

At this point, a third card may be dealt based to either side based on the following rules:

Third Card Rule for Players

  • When the combined value of the two cards handed to the player is 8 or 9, the player wins. Therefore, no third cards are dealt.
  • When the value of the two players cards is 6 or 7, the hand is compared to the banker’s hand to determine the winner. No third card is dealt.
  • When the total value of the two players cards is 5 or less, the player gets a third card.

Third Card Rule for the Banker

For the most part, the banker getting a third card depends on the player’s hand value. Here is a brief breakdown of the rule:

  • If the banker’s card total value is 0,1, or 2, a third card is drawn
  • If the hand totals 3, 4, 5, or 6 and the player draws a third card, the banker can stand or draw a third card. It all depends on the value of the player’s third card
  • If the hand totals 7, the banker stands
  • If the hand totals 8 or 9, the banker gets a natural win

Payouts

Squeeze Midi-Barccart bets payout according to the outline below:

  • Player Bet- Even money in the ratio of 1:1
  • Banker bet- Pays out even money. The house subtracts a 5% commission before paying
  • Tie bet- Pays out in the ratio of 8:1
  • Optional pairs side bet- pays out in the ratio 11:1 only if the first two cards dealt to the Banker or Player are matching pairs

Conclusion

Squeeze Midi Baccarat is optimized for players who find mini-baccarat too fast and big table baccarat too slow. It also allows the casino to hold more rounds of the game per hour. Therefore it is a win-win situation for the players and the house.
